SocialSpace is committed to protecting minors from exploitation and abuse. This policy outlines our safety measures, age requirements, and enforcement procedures.
⚠️ Age Requirement
Users must be 12 years or older to use SocialSpace.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 12. If we become aware that a user is under 12, we will immediately terminate their account and delete their data.
Safety Measures
Age Verification
- Date of birth required at signup
- Accounts flagged as underage are immediately suspended
- We reserve the right to request government-issued ID for verification
- Multiple violations result in device-level bans
Content Moderation
- Automated NSFW Detection: AI scans all uploaded images and videos before publication
- User Reporting: Report button visible on all content
- 24-Hour Response: All safety reports reviewed within 24 hours
- Human Review: Trained moderators assess flagged content
- Proactive Monitoring: Regular audits of high-risk content patterns
Zero Tolerance Policy
SocialSpace has zero tolerance for:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Grooming or exploitation of minors
- Sexual solicitation of minors
- Sharing, requesting, or discussing CSAM
- Any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits children
Enforcement Actions
- First violation: Immediate permanent ban
- Content removal: All user content deleted
- Law enforcement reporting: CSAM reported to authorities immediately
- Device ban: Prevent account recreation
- Cooperation: Full cooperation with law enforcement investigations
Reporting Mechanisms
In-App Reporting
- Tap the ⋮ menu on any status or profile
- Select "Report"
- Choose violation category: Underage user, Inappropriate content, Harassment, etc.
- Add additional context (optional)
- Submit report
What Happens After You Report
- Report is immediately flagged for review
- Severe violations (CSAM, immediate danger) escalated instantly
- Moderator reviews within 24 hours
- Action taken: Warning, content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban
- Reporter notified of outcome (privacy-protected)

South African Law Compliance
SocialSpace complies with:
- Films and Publications Act, 1996: Prohibition of child pornography
- Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007: Protection of children from sexual exploitation
- Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA): Data protection for minors
- Cybercrimes Act, 2020: Reporting obligations for online CSAM

We report the following to authorities:
- All incidents of child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Suspected grooming or exploitation
- Credible threats to child safety
- User reports indicating immediate danger

User Safety Tips
- Never share personal information publicly: Address, phone number, school name
- Meet in public places: If meeting someone from SS, bring a friend and choose a public location
- Trust your instincts: If something feels wrong, it probably is
- Report suspicious behavior: Better to over-report than under-report
- Block freely: You don't owe anyone access to you
- Tell someone: Inform a trusted adult if you feel uncomfortable
For Parents & Guardians
If you believe your child is using SocialSpace:
- Contact us immediately at ss.socialspace@gmail.com
- Provide proof of guardianship and the account username
- We will terminate the account within 24 hours
- All associated data will be permanently deleted
